Google Gemini Advanced AI Set-Up

To use your ASCO Account with Google Gemini Advanced, please follow these steps to get set-up. If you run into any issues, please submit a service desk ticket.

1. Log in to the Secure Portal at https://secure.asco.org with your ASCO credentials. On the Secure Portal dashboard, look for the Google AI (Gemini) tile:

2. When you first open Google Gemini, you will see a sign in screen like the one below:

3. Click Sign in and you will be redirected to a sign in page where you will enter your ASCO email:

4. Accept the terms to activate your account with Google:

5. After accepting the terms, the Google Gemini Advanced page will show, allowing you to chat with prompts:

If you are already signed in to Google Chrome with your personal Gmail address:

When you click on the Google Gemini tile from Secure Portal, you will be redirected to your personal account's instance of Google Gemini. A new profile for your ASCO account will need to be added so you can use Google Gemini Advanced AI, and not the standard version.
Click on your initials or profile icon at the top right and select Add under Other profiles:
Select Sign In and sign in with your ASCO email address.
When prompted, select Ok to Continue in a new Chrome profile:
Turn on sync to begin syncing saved bookmarks to your new ASCO profile. Select an icon for the profile and click Done.

How to export and import your bookmarks to new Chrome profile:

First, export your bookmarks:

On your computer, open your personal Chrome profile by clicking on your initials or profile icon at the top right. Under Other Chrome profiles, select your personal account. A new browser window will open.
At the top right, select More and then Bookmarks and lists and then Bookmark Manager.
At the top, select More and then Export Bookmarks.

Chrome exports your bookmarks as an HTML file. Save this file to your OneDrive account. You will use this file to import your bookmarks into your ASCO profile.

Next, import your bookmarks:

On your computer, open your personal Chrome profile by clicking on your initials or profile icon at the top right. Under Other Chrome profiles, select your ASCO account. A new browser window will open.
At the top right, select More and then Bookmarks and lists and then Import bookmarks and settings.
Select Bookmarks HTML File and then Choose file.

Choose a file and select Open and then Done. Your bookmarks will now appear in your ASCO Chrome profile.

Open Chrome with your ASCO profile:

Click your initials in the top right corner and then select the Gear icon.
Click the three dots icon on the ASCO profile and select Edit.
At the bottom of the screen, click the Create desktop shortcut toggle.
On your computer desktop, you will now see an icon for your Chrome ASCO profile. You can pin this icon to your taskbar to automatically open Chrome with your ASCO account to access Google Gemini Advanced AI.
